Mahtani Group of Companies contributes to a $150 million plant

The Mahtani Group of Companies has recently confirmed that it is working along with the Sunbird Group of UK to setup a bio-ethanol plant in Luapula. The plant is expected to start with its initial program from November 2015 and will be serving as an integral unit in Luapula to create employment opportunities.

One of the close personnel of Mahtani Group of Companies comments, “The bio-ethanol plant is a vision which was laid by Dr. Rajan Mahtani. He always wanted to do something for his fellow citizens and by God’s grace, he has successfully accomplished most of his projects. This plant involves an investment of USD $150 million for the setup and financing would be done by the Mahtani Group of Companies and the Sunbird Group of United Kingdom.

Mahtani Group of Companies has always been a key contributor in development projects. Over the years, Dr. Rajan Mahtani has led from the front and has contributed to numerous projects. Setting up a bio-ethanol plant in Luapula province means more employment opportunities for the locals and flourishing of ancillary businesses as well.

Edward, a resident of Luapula province comments, “Dr. Rajan Mahtani is like an elder brother to me. Over the years, the Government hasn’t done anything for us, but he is the one who took the initiative of giving us a chance. I have heard that there will be about 2, 000 worker’s requirements in the factory. I hope I am one of them.”

The Mahtani Group of Companies has set a new dimension for the locals. People would not only be employed directly, but indirect employment will also give a chance to 5, 000 workers. In such context. It wouldn’t be wrong to suggest that the Luapula province will soon be among the developed zones in Africa. The patience has finally rewarded the locals.
