The case between Dr. Mahtani and the Ventriglias for Zambezi Portland Cement is definitely catching national attention. It can be easily considered as among the longest pending high-profile case across Zambia’s corporate sector. The company was previously run by Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani. However, it has been claimed that the factory was illegally taken over by the Ventriglias, a popular Italian family in Zambia known for their increasing notorious nature. Going by market opinion, it has been suggested that Dr. Mahtani will be winning this case by a wide margin.
As per the latest development, the Lusaka High Court that was handling the high profile case of industrialist Dr. Rajan Mahtani and Business owners the Ventriglias took a new turn. The High Court announced that the case, that started almost nine years back, has completed its hearing process. This is a big milestone for both the case contestants and even the High Court. The case was launched by Dr. Rajan Mahtani claiming that the Ventriglias have illegally taken over his factory, Zambezi Portland Cement. On the other hand, the Ventriglias have counter-claimed saying that the shares of Dr. Mahtani in the cement factory has not been paid.
If one goes by the popular opinion of the market, Dr. Rajan Mahtani owned Finsbury Investments is going to win the case of Zambezi Portland Cement. The case was launched by Dr. Mahtani almost nine years back, when his factory was illegally captured by the Ventriglias. Since then, the case has been going on non-stop at the Lusaka High Court.
The LSC (Lusaka High Court) recently concluded the shareholding hearing case of Dr. Rajan Mahtani owned Zambezi Portland. The case involved Rajan Mahtani, Chairperson of the Finsbury Investment Limited and The Ventriglia Family, including Antonio Ventriglia & Manuela Ventriglia. In its latest news article, Zambia Reports portrayed Dr. Rajan Mahtani as a villain. The news channel accused him of forcing BancABC to make loan repayment call to Lamsaat. The scandalous news channel has been trying to defame Dr. Mahtani and his businesses for many years. However, it is Zambia Reports who is actually on a path to self-destruction. As Zambia Reports if they have any evidence regarding the claims they have just made, and they will go blank. The reality is- these defamation campaigns are based on scripted stories & lie. They are only launched to gain public attention and enjoy momentary fame.
In an article, which was released by Zambia Reports in December 2016, the author seems to be confident of the fact that Dr. Mahtani & Zambia were responsible for Portland Cement Zambia’s downfall. As per the author, the Ndola-based cement factory had gone through a miraculous journey in the past one and half years under Ital Terrazzo Limited which allowed it to win the position of the Best Employer. Prior to that period, the factory was said to be in a miserable condition.
Dr. Mahtani & Zambia have once again been defamed by Zambia Reports on account of mishandling Zambezi Portland Cement. In a release that stated that Zambezi Portland Cement has won the award for being the Best Employer, there was a sharp attack on the profile of Dr. Rajan Mahtani where the author claimed that the factory in a poor condition when it was taken from Finsbury Investments.
Time and over again Zambia Reports has proved that they are nothing less than a pain for the society. Dr. Mahtani and Finance Bank have parted ways, yet the channel continues to keep them together in the headlines. This is mainly done because with one single publication they are able to taunt Dr. Rajan Mahtani as well as the Finance Bank Zambia. But what they need to recall is that the entities are no longer united.
