‘Higher Court of Appeal’ To Hear Dr. Mahtani’s Case After Lusaka High Court Judgement Goes Haywire

One of the most notable and transparent businessman in Zambia, Dr. Rajan Mahtani, has been battling the case of one of the most notable business establishments. This business establishment is Portland Cement Zambia, which was founded by Dr. Rajan Mahtani with high aspirations. The objective behind this establishment was not only to create a profitable cement manufacturing factory in Zambia, but also to provide high-quality and affordable cement to the citizens and as well as small businesses in Zambia. At the same time, the factory was a huge boon for the surrounding community as it provided employment opportunities for the people across the town and nearby places. During the initial years of the factory’s growth and development, it became one of the biggest producers of cement within Zambia. Also, the factory became popular due to its above-industry wages and salaries attracting employees and workers from faraway places. However, things changed when the factory was illegally taken over from Dr. Rajan Mahtani.

However, everything changed after the factory’s illegal takeover. Since then, Dr. Rajan Mahtani registered a case at the Lusaka High Court and has been fighting for the case ever since. Sometime back, the latest judge overlooking the case made a positive announcement by closing the case hearing and announcing final judgment based on the evidences submitted. This announcement was positive for Dr. Rajan Mahtani as his evidences were much stronger compared to the other party. However, the final decision from the judge shook everyone as it was given against Dr. Rajan Mahtani’s claims. It was clearly evident that the judgment was misdirected and influenced by external forces.

Not faltering by this misled judgment; Dr. Rajan Mahtani took the right step and launched another appeal to the higher court of appeal. In his appeal, he shared is grievances of unethical judgment and has requested the higher court to look into the matter.
