Zambia Reports has recently made it clear that it is not going to keep itself away from the defamation campaign against Dr. Rajan Mahtani. After an absence from the scene, it recently made a comeback in December 2016 where it intended to launch an indirect attack on the former Finance Bank Zambia Chairman. With a title portraying the success story of Zambezi Portland Cement, it has managed to hide its real intention initially and then malign a respected businessman.

The defamation campaign has now been running for almost a decade now and with every publication, they are growing in confidence. A disappointment in such respect is lack of government support. The officials are no longer interested in intervening into the matter because some of them are close allies of the Italian Mafias, the Ventriglia family. The fight for Zambezi Portland Cement has reached a level where attacks are becoming personal in nature. Earlier, most of the attack remained till Mahtani Group of Companies or Finsbury Investments, but now every time an article is published by Zambia Reports in context to this regard, they clear use the name ‘Dr. Rajan Mahtani’ as they find it easier to defame him without any legal threat.

Recently, when ZR claimed that Zambezi Portland Cement has honoured with the award for being the best Employer in Zambia, they should have focused on things like increase in the rate of production, performance of the workers, the relationship between the management and the union labour, etc. Instead, they have launched an attack on Dr. Rajan Mahtani and then moved ahead to suggest that the factory was in a miserable condition when it was taken over by Ital Terrazzo Limited (ITL). The level of journalism has seriously been put to shame by Zambia Reports as they have become a promotional media house instead of a news channel.
