Rajan Mahtani comes under fresh attack from the conspirators

The conspirators have finally broken their long silence and this time they have used Zambezi Portland Cement factory to defame Rajan Mahtani, the former Finance Bank Chairman. In a publication from Zambia Reports on 30th November 2016, named as ‘Zambezi Portland Cement Wins Employer of the Year Award’ a shallow attempt has been made towards settling scores against Dr. Rajan Mahtani.

The success story of Zambezi Portland Cement has been highlighted in the initial part, but then we again see that the author has gone back to his biased discussion of how the factory was suffering under the management of Finsbury Investment. If their claim is true, then how come ZPC surpassed its forecasted output in 2014-15. Moreover, the achievement marked a surplus production of 1,73,985 tonnes, which in itself is a record. Zambezi Portland Cement is an integral part of Ndola and its success is bound to make everyone happy, but to drag the name of Rajan Mahtani under every matter is a matter of shame.

One has not forgot a recent publication which made it to the headlines in August 2015. In an article named as ‘Zambezi Portland lays off 47 workers’ it was found that the new management of the factory was removing workers because they didn’t have sufficient work for them. As far as the authenticity of the news is concerned, the General Secretary of Mineworkers Union of Zambia, Mr. Chewe had confirmed this news.

For a country like Zambia, success comes at a price of constant devotion towards work. Winning Employer of the Year Award is in fact a moment of pride for every Zambian, but then defaming another businessman with a view to kill two birds with one stone doesn’t make any sense. Needless to say, Zambia Reports will never leave a chance to execute the malign campaign that it has been running for a decade now.
