The year 2022 is ending and after the last two years of horror from the Covid-19 pandemic, the economy and society across the globe are slowly recovering toward normal. One of the critical events that occurred in the year 2022 in Africa was the announcement and presentation of FIN- Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards for the year 2021. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, a noted businessman and philanthropist from Zambia with several decades of business experience, was one of the recipients of these awards.
The Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards or the FIN awards are annual awards presented during the (UNGA) United Nations General Award meetings at New York. These awards are presented to highlight the contributions made by business personalities toward building and creating significant global businesses. These businesses have made positive e and far-reaching contributions towards the development of growth of the African sub-continent and for this, the awards are presented. The awards ceremony for the year 2021 was held virtually, via YouTube medium and the members along with awardees remained in the comfort of their local areas.
Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani was selected for one of these awards. For his contributions to the banking sector of Zambia, Dr. Rajan Mahtani was awarded one of the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards. For his contributions, Dr. Rajan Mahtani received the Forbes ‘Entrepreneur of the year 2021’ award. Members from the prestigious Forbes ‘Business Connect’ presented the awards and Dr. Rajan Mahtani thanked everyone for their honor. Forbes is a prestigious organization known for its several ranks such as ‘Top Businessmen’, ‘Richest Businessmen’, and several others. As such, this award will provide significant international exposure for Dr. Rajan Mahtani. Dr. Mahtani is the founder and Group Chairman of Mahtani Group, one of the top companies in Zambia established in 1981. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is also known for his philanthropic contributions such as Prison Fellowship Zambia and Stephen Malama award and Scholarship for top law graduates in Zambia.
