Finance Bank Zambia, which was once a sprawling and growing bank in Zambia, is suffering from a series of troubles now. The bank was established by Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, one of the premium businessmen in Zambia. During his leadership, Finance Bank saw exponential leadership and was able to take Finance Bank to new heights. After the bank reached a well-established position, it was given to another entity for management so that Dr. Mahtani can focus on his other new ventures and take them to the same level of growth and development. However, the new leadership turned out to be not as effective as the previous one.

A recent news erupted revealing issues between the bank employees and their new employer, BancABC. BancABC (African Banking Corporation Zambia Limited) recently acquired 100 & shares of the Finance Bank Zambia. However, the employees of the bank are not too happy with the new scheme of employment contract presented to them. As per the employees, it is not as per their will. The employees have accused that their employment contract was as per their predecessor, Finance Bank, and they have yet not received their severance package. Employees have also argued that since they have not seen the packaged from their new employers, forcing them to sign the employment contract in unethical. The matter was discussed by some employees to a local newspaper, after which the issue came into the media.

The new employer (BancABC) has also been accused of not informing the employees about the terms of employments after the takeover, which is mandatory as per the Labour Ministry. Also, it was found that many employees already signed these new contracts with the fear of employment loss. There was also a communiqué from BancABC stating the employees to either accept the new employment condition or put resignation. The employees of Finance Bank are put in a rather difficult situation and still now there has not been any remedy or solution achieved.
