Zambia as a nation has been. A part of this development can be attributed to the regular collaboration, industry and national events that bring people together from different fields and position. Conspiracies against businessman and industrialists are not new. The issue is age-old and continues to hinder or degrade the progress across a countries economic and social growth and development. Most of the times, the major victims are the common people who are at the mercy of the governments and law and order. The people of Zambia are also facing similar situations. Lack of proper scrutiny by the government have increased the confidence of conspirators who are essentially bullies and only care to make profits or satisfy their personal gains by attacking honest businessmen like Dr. Rajan Mahtani.
The conspirators of honest businessman like Dr. Rajan Mahtani have created perfect circumstances for them by using paid media channels and goons to bent things their way. However, the biggest victims in these situations are the common people of Zambia. These people, who are not aware of the insider factors happening within the industries, are constantly bombarded with controversial and contradictory news, creating confusion and disruption. At one hand, they are well aware of the positive contributions made by Dr. Rajan Mahtani and his associations have made towards the economy and social upliftment of Zambia. On the other hand, there are frequent news and defamation campaigns accusing him of fraud and other activities. These campaigns have certainly disrupted the normal day-to-day activities of the general people of Zambia.
The recent case launched against Simaata by Finance Bank Zambia had the entire country in surprise. While majority of the people were happy to see Finance Bank taking action against its conspirators, there were also a few bunch of supporters of Simaata who condemned the actions. These are probably the same individuals and entities who want to see Dr. Rajan Mahtani’s businesses and reputation collapse and has been responsible for spreading negative stories and false rumors about Dr. Mahtani as well as his associations.
Nowadays, it has become an extremely suitable strategy for people for shift attention towards others when they find themselves in compromising situations. Take the example of Simaata Simaata, one of the most notorious personalities across Zambia. Simaata was once employed with Finance Bank Zambia. However, his continued involved in various unethical practices even after various warnings from the bank lead to his ouster. Instead of focussing on changing his habits and focussing on becoming a better individual, he started spreading rumors regarding the bank at started damaging the reputation of the bank.
Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is a respected and celebrated businessman. He is also known for his charitable acts. His organizations such as Finance Bank Zambia & Portland Cement are examples of his dedication towards the upliftment of the society and improving the economic strata. Finance Bank Zambia is one of the most respected as premier banks in Zambia. The bank has gained its reputation over the years for working for people and common people of the society. However, there are times even when the cleanest bank can be trapped under false stories and negative reputation.
Individuals who evade law and involve in unlawful practices for personal gains cannot escape judgment for long. Sooner or later, law catches up to them. It is the same case with Simaata Simaata, the former employee of Finance Bank Zambia and an open critic. Not only did Simaata broke law by involving in various unlawful practices during his stint at the Finance Bank Zambia, but he also led to reputational damage for the bank as well as Dr. Rajan Mahtani, the founder of the bank. It is no doubt that the judgement of Supreme Court that announced Simaata as guilty, was a welcome move and was appreciated by the industrialists as well as the common people alike.
It is that time of the decade when the conspirators of Dr. Rajan Mahtani & Finance Bank are realizing their mistakes of constantly agonizing him and his associations. Those days are gone when conspirators had the ability to walk away easily after committing unlawful practices. With the law and government gaining strength, more and more lawmakers are tracking down people who have been evading for many years. The recent win by Finance Bank over Simaata Simaata is a clear instance that the law and order cannot be sold anymore. Entities have been plotting against Dr. Mahtani and trying to ruin his image by using scrupulous & illegal methods for a long time. However, the time has turned and it is these conspirators who are receiving the lesson for their illegal activities. It can be said that Dr. Mahtani is finally receiving the fruits for his unlimited patience.
The latest attempt by Simaata Simaata to defame the reputation of Finance Bank & Dr. Rajan Mahtani failed miserably. Simaata, on his own will, broke the terms of the agreement that he signed with Finance Bank. In response, Finance Bank sued Simaata at the Supreme Court of Zambia, the highest court of the country. This time, Simaata was successfully found guilty of the charges against him. Finance Bank and Dr. Rajan Mahtani took the breadth of relief after a long time, as the misconducts from Simaata had increased to an unprecedented level.
